A BILL to amend article nine, chapter seventeen-c of the code of
West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as
amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated section
six, relating to requiring drivers of motor vehicles to
yield the right-of-way to funeral processions at
intersections; and providing penalties.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That article nine, chapter seventeen-c of the code of West
Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, be
amended by adding thereto a new section, designated section six,
to read as follows:
ARTICLE 9. RIGHT-OF-WAY.
§17C-9-6. Funeral procession.
(a) The driver of a vehicle approaching an intersection shall yield the right-of-way to a funeral procession which is entering
the intersection from a different direction.
aAny person who violates the provisions of this section shall
be fined twenty-five dollars plus court costs.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to require drivers of
motor vehicles to yield the right-of-way to funeral processions
at intersections.
